PASADENA, TEXAS (September 23, 2016) Pasadena Memorial High School’s Tristan Morgan and Tomball High School’s Ashley Ramsey were named the Outstanding Competitors of the Meet at the Pasadena Harvest Classic Swimming Meet held at Shippey Aquatic Center in Pasadena, Texas on Friday, September 23, 2016. Morgan, who is a senior at Pasadena Memorial also won the award in the 2015 edition of the meet.
Morgan competed in four individual events; winning two gold
medals, one silver medal and one fifth place finish. His gold medals come in
the 100-yard individual medley and the 50-yard breaststroke. In the 100-yard individual
medley, Morgan established a new meet record with the time of 1:07.61. The previous
record was held by Pasadena High School’s Daniel Green, whose time of 1:09.93
was established in 2005. The senior breaststroke specialist time of 34.30 in
the 50-yard breaststroke was short of the meet record time of 33.78, of which
he set in 2015.
Ramsey, who is a freshman, won her gold medals in the 100-yard
freestyle (1:15.66) and the 50-yard breaststroke (:42.33). The meet record in
those events are held by Kristine Kelly, competing for Pasadena High School; 50-yard breaststroke (:36.37 in 2002) and 100-yard freestyle (:59.69 in 2005).
In the team standings, Tomball finished in first place, with
258 points. Pasadena Memorial took
second place in the team standings (116 points) followed by Pasadena High School in third place (50 points) and Sam Rayburn High School in fourth
place (49 points).
